Challenges for Parts Locator Marketplaces explained

In a couple of recent blogpost, Ludo Van Vooren, an industry veteran and our VP Customer Solutions, explained the issues that exist with existing parts locator marketplaces.

In “Challenges of online aeronautical parts locator systems”, he explains how such services should use technology to change the industry through transparency, quality and community rather than throwing technology at old processes. This is definitely the approach we are taking at fipart as demonstrated in the first installment of our next generation platform.

In the more recent “Conflicts of Interest amongst Parts Locator Marketplaces”, Ludo further explores the issues related to the affiliation that exist between certain marketplaces such as ILSmart.com and PartsLogistics.com and actual parts distributors, highlighting the potential conflicts this could cause.  At fipart we take pride in our independence and transparency of ownership.

We hope that you find these posts as interesting as we did. What are your thoughts on these subjects?
